The Nutritional Health Benefits of Raw Cannabis

What’s being discovered now is the nutritional power and overall beneficial health effects of raw cannabis. Raw cannabis is not psychoactive unless heated, and it contains powerful disease-fighting compounds known as cannabinoids. Of these compounds, the most frequently studied are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD).

When used just as you would any other vegetable (in a smoothie, salad, sauté, juiced), cannabis appears to provide some pretty awesome health benefits. You may have heard of Kristen Peskuski-Courtney, a woman who struggled with multiple chronic illnesses which left her all but debilitated. After years of pharmaceutical intervention to no avail, her health dramatically improved through the power of raw cannabis juicing. The man behind this method of ingestion is Dr. William Courtney, a medical doctor and huge promoter of the “raw greens” cannabis movement.

From Dr. Courtney:

Whether Sativa, Indica, Ruderalis, male, female, hermaphrodite, native, feral, bred for fiber, seeds or medicinal resin, cannabis is the best source for [beneficial cannabinoids]…

Dr. Courtney has researched the benefits of raw cannabis and has come to the following conclusions:

  • Smoking cannabis may not treat the disease, only the symptoms

  • Therapeutic levels of cannabinoids are better achieved through ingestion

  • When cannabis is heated or burned, the chemical structure of the plant compounds are changed, specifically the acidity of THC, which alters its ability to be therapeutic

  • Raw cannabis activates the brain’s cannabinoid system, which triggers an antioxidant release

  • These antioxidants act as a “cleaner” and remove damaged cells from the body

  • Raw cannabis improves the efficiency of the cells in our body

  • Creating oils, butters or eating the raw plant is the best way to get the necessary beneficial compounds

Looking to incorporate more “green” into your daily diet? If you’re interested in exploring the benefits of raw cannabis, here are some tips and recommendations:

  • Raw cannabis can be used every day, multiple times a day by anyone of any age.

  • Raw cannabis is not intoxicating unless it is heated, meaning there are no worries of mental or physical impairment after consuming

  • Raw cannabis can be added to smoothies, juices, and salads

  • Like any other herb or seasoning, ground up raw buds can be sprinkled on top of soups, stews, oatmeal, yogurt, or pudding

  • Juicing specifically takes a lot of material; Dr. Courtney suggests 20-30 big shade leaves or 2-3 raw buds (2-3 inches in length) per day for therapeutic benefits

  • Having your own garden at home is helpful as access to this quantity of raw product may be difficult or illegal in your state.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids refer to any of a group of related compounds that include cannabinol and the active constituents of cannabis. They activate cannabinoid receptors in the body. The body itself produces  compounds called endocannabinoids and they play a role in many processes within the body that help to create a healthy environment. Cannabinoids also play a role in immune system generation and re~generation. The body regenerates best when it’s saturated with Phyto~Cannabinoids. Cannabinoids can also be found in Cannabis. It is important to note that the cannabinoids are plentiful in both hemp and cannabis. The differentiation between hemp and cannabis is simply that hemp only contains 0.3% THC while cannabis is 0.4% THC or higher. (Technically they are both strains of Cannabis Sativa.)

Cannabinoids have been proven to reduce cancer cells as they have a great impact on the rebuilding of the immune system. While not every strain of cannabis has the same effect, more and more patients are seeing success in cancer reduction in a short period of time by using cannabis. Contrary to popular thought and belief, smoking the cannabis does not assist a great deal in treating disease within the body as therapeutic levels cannot be reached through smoking. Creating oil from the plant or eating the plant is the best way to go about getting the necessary ingredients which are the cannabinoids. Another aspect of smoking the cannabis that must be looked at is the fact that when the cannabis is heated and burnt it changes the chemical structure and acidity of the THC which changes its ability to be therapeutic. Further, anytime you burn something and inhale it, you create oxidation within the body. That oxidation is not healthy for the body and can lead to health issues itself.

Cannabinoids can prevent cancer, reduce heart attacks by 66% and insulin dependent diabetes by 58%. Cannabis clinician Dr. William Courtney recommends drinking 4 – 8 ounces of raw flower and leaf juice from any Cannabis/Hemp plant.

Cannabis – whether Sativa, Indica, Ruderalis, male, female, hermaphrodite, wild, bred for fiber, seeds or medicinal resin – is a vegetable with every dietary essential we can’t synthesize: Essential Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids, Essential Cannabinoid acids and hundreds of anti-Cancer compounds. It is important to note that when we isolate to important compounds of cannabis and take them in supplement we miss out of the bio-synergistic compounds that go along with it in full plant form. This makes it more difficult for the body to determine what exactly it is taking in.

“If you heat the plant, you will decarboxylate THC-acid and you will get high, you”ll get your 10 mg. If you don’t heat it, you can go up to five or six hundred milligrams & use it as a Dietary Cannabis. . . and push it up to the Anti-oxidant and Neuro-protective levels which come into play at hundreds of milligrams,” stated Dr. William Courtney.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) maintains our biological systems by regulating each cell tissue. It uses Arachadonic acid/Omega 6 to make Endo-Cannabinoids: fatty molecules that communicate harm between cells. Dietary Cannabis mimics the ECS by providing Cannabinoids when there is an Arachadonic acid deficiency or Clinical Cannabinoid Deficiency

Doctors who have been researching cannabis and it’s benefits in diet for some time have recommended that people make cannabis a part of their everyday diet. To reiterate, the plant does not need to contain high levels of THC and it can simply be hemp. Eating Cannabis that does contain THC will not get you high. Also, smoking it does not give the same results as eating or juicing the plant.

If we view the plant simply as a vegetable like all other vegetables we eat, it makes sense that we wouldn’t put it inside rolling papers and smoke it to or even concentrate it down to receive the maximum Nutritional, Health and Spiritual Benefits. Common Sense says: Ingest the Whole Raw Plant as our bodies are Divinely designed to consume it...

Our 4 Vegan Capsule Lines

Blends of activated and unactivated Cannabis and Hemp Flowers

We offer a unique line of organic vegan whole-plant capsules in that we combine Cannabis and Hemp and secondly we mix decarboxylated and non-decarboxylated flowers. In doing this we are able to prove for all ages and ingesting needs. As mentioned above: High THC/THCa 4/1 200mg capsules, Equal1/1 THC/THCa/CBD/CBDa, High CBD/CBDa 1/4 and Pure Hemp CBD/CBDa capsules; each with 5 different activation levels.

5 different activations levels, what does that mean? When the Cannabis/Hemp plant is heated above 220F (activated) it loses its acid molecule from the cannabinoids;  example is where THCa turns to THC that now provides the 'high' effect. Within each capsule line members can choose  from 5 levels of activation:  0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% activated. Our 4/1 high THC/THCa flower capsules of 75% or  100% activated may work better for a person in severe pain where the 0% is better for the person that wants NO chance of feeling 'high' but still desires higher THC levels. Same for the 1/1 line having equal amounts of both flowers of THC  Cannabis and CBD Hemp Flowers, 1/4 high CDB Hemp flower capsules and our Pure Hemp CBD/CBDa capsules.

Our bodies are the smartest doctors on the planet thereby the thought goes to offering our bodies the fullest spectrum of molecules possible to choose from. For example our 1/1 50% activated 50% unactivated capsules provides equal portions of Cannabis and Hemp THC/THCa and CBD/CBDa.

Between our 4 lines of capsules, people have now a multitude of choices that will fit everyones Cannabis/Hemp whole-plant total-spectrum ingesting needs.
